Join us at the water procession at Las Isletas, called: Viacrucis Aquatic. We give you a chance to witness a unique tradition, which is yearly performed at islands within the Great Lake Nicaragua.
This procession has long history within the local communities but it was not until 27 years ago that the city people joined this pilgrimage. Since then, every year an increasing number of people and boats participate in this religious celebration.
This religious manifestation is considered unique in the world, for only in Nicaragua you will find the venerated image of Jesus of Nazareth, with the hands tied, carried in a boat, decorated with flowers and flags-followed be hundreds of believers in boats.
